Psi Chi Distinguished Teaching Award, 2008
The first Psi Chi Distinguished Teaching Award was given to
Dr. Zinta Byrne in 2008.
Dr. Byrne has been nominated for the Best Teacher Award at Colorado State University in 2005, 2008, 2009, and 2010..
"Dr. Byrne is a CSU alumni and has obvious pride and excitement in her position at the university. As a student, I have come across many different professors who each have an individual style. Of all the faculty I have interacted with, Dr. Byrne has shown the greatest interest in me as a student, my success in her classes and for when I continue on in the "real world." Lecture material was made explicitly relevant to life outside college - for interviewing, job searching, employment, and personal happiness, to mention a few examples. She made efforts every day to bring something out of the ordinary to class - several guest speakers, recommended reading lists, and of course her humor. To end the semester, Dr. Byrne created projects that truly pulled all of the class material together. There have not been many papers I was excited to write - but I was for her classes.
Dr. Byrne not only fulfills all the requirements you expect of a teacher, she went far beyond those expectations and proved to have a significant impact on my education and what path I wish to pursue after graduation."
