Dr. Thomas Borak at Colorado State University

Research activities in my laboratory are principally related to radiation dosimetry. This involves measurements as well as computational methods for dose assessment. Students involved in these projects usually have a background in physics or engineering and are expected to develop additional skills in mathematics and statistics through course work and practical experience.

Many of the experiments are performed at national laboratories or specialized facilities operated by the Department of Energy. A brief description of some of the projects and recent publications are listed below.

Characterization of CZT detectors for measurements of low energy photons.

Microdosimetry of high energy heavy particles.

Neutron dose assesment.

Radon

Photon and electron dosimetry.
