The web's content is work I have done over some forty-six years. The plan for the site is that it eventually include all of the essays that I have published. That would comprise the complete set of my published work. Luckily, there are not that many essays to be converted to usable web format. It will also include notes that are in some cases quite extensive on figures, terms, concepts and the like that are related to my work over the years. The most extensive of these are the notes on the work of Edmund Husserl (Husserl Notes) and those on the work of Martin Heidegger (Heidegger Notes).
I stand in a position that I myself consider to be very hard line phenomenology and that is very close to what I take to have been the considered view of Edmund Husserl by the mid 1920's and of Martin Heidegger from the same period throughout his career. Whoever checks into the matter at all carefully will find that my reading of Heidegger's work is seriously at odds with virtually all well known interpretations of it from 1930 or so onward. Should I be mistaken concerning this reading of the relevant works by Husserl and Heidegger, I shall very willingly albeit somewhat sadly take primary responsibility for the position and reject theirs so far as there is disagreement. For something resembling a synopsis of the principle theses of this position please see " Why Not Naturalism or Skepticism or Pragmatism?"
I reserve whatever rights I have to the contents so that I may say: This material may not be copied or otherwise reproduced FOR SALE OR FOR ANY OTHER COMMERCIAL PURPOSE without the written permission of the author, who may be contacted in the manners indicated below. All other uses of the material so far as the right to use them is mine to offer are welcome and encouraged. Be forewarned that in many cases I have the right to publish the material only in anthologies consisting entirely of my own work, such as this web site.
The site will be continually under revision and construction through the generous assistance of James Peterson in the Department of Computer Science.
