bio. i am an assistant professor at colorado state university in the despartment of journalism and technical communication. i received a ph.d. from the annenberg school for communication, and an m.s. in regional economics, both at the university of pennsylvania in philadelphia.

my research focuses on gender influences over information-seeking on-line, especially in an economic context. with training in labor economics and several years’ experience working in international advertising, i seek to combine economic, social, and semantic research to explore the nature of the barriers we confront and coping mechanisms we use as we navigate structures of society.

family and friends. i live in fort collins with my partner nii, our daughter rowan, and two furry beasts, cleopatra and no-name bob (a.k.a. gato).
