Eric
Sunness is entering his 23rd season as an ice hockey coach, 16
of which have been with the Northern Colorado Youth Hockey program.
Prior to coming to Colorado State University, Sunness coached
the Fossil Ridge Varsity Hockey Team to a 27-6 record over the
course of two seasons.
Sunness, a Binghamton,
New York native, obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing
management and professional sports management from the State University
of New York at Brockport. Sunness also obtained a Juris Doctorate
degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan.
He has been practicing law in Fort Collins, Colorado since 1993.
Sunness competed in
football, hockey and lacrosse through high school, and competed
in lacrosse at Brockport State. He worked for the Centre for International
Sports Management, and for the New Jersey Nets basketball team
as an assistant to the Public Relations Director. He has served
as Vice President on the board of directors for Northern Colorado
Youth Hockey, and as president of Fort Collins Youth Lacrosse.
Eric and his wife,
Elizabeth, live in Fort Collins, and have three children, Megan,
Alex, and Emma.
