Lamda Pi Eta, Mu Sigma Chapter

Meeting minutes for Thursday, March 3, 2005

Liberal Arts Fair

The Liberal Arts Fair is Wednesday, March 9 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Lambda Pi Eta will have a booth. We will be holding a bake sale during that time both to publicize LPE and to fundraise. We will also be playing Pop Culture Pictionary. We still need volunteers to help run the booth, especially from 1:00 to 2:00. If you can help, please email Jessie.

Speech Communication Teacher Award

Jessie has sent around an email asking you to nominate your favorate Speech Communication professor for our first annual Lambda Pi Eta Teacher Award. Please email Jessie with your nomination by Friday, March 11.

Flea Market

We would like to occupy the Flea Market booth, possibly to fundraise or promote our big fundraiser. We also might use FYI to do advertise.

RMCA Conference

Dr. Burgchardt would like to have a good showing at the RMCA Conference on April 16, espeically by LPE members. We also would like to meet with other LPE chapters. The conference is 9:00 am - 4:30 pm in Colorado Springs. If you would like to go, or for more information, please email Jessie.

Fundraiser

For our fundraiser this year, we are going to do an Open Mic Storytelling night. Participants will share stories based on a theme (the working theme right now is "passion"). The plan right now is to hold the event in Eddy 212 early in April. Alyssa Samek and Joey Richards have volunteered to provide music. We will be providing food and asking for donations to fundraise, and also possibly charging a nominal admission. We will be posting flyers around campus. We will meet at a later time, either in person or via email to divide up tasks. Those who are interested in telling stories, or helping out in any way should, again email Jessie.
