Plans for the 9th annual Rocky Mountain Antique Fair are on
track. This message is to let you know about the schedule for the fair, costs,
and deadlines. The fair will be held in the same place as always, the B-2
conference center, lower level, Denver Public Library, 13th Ave
& Broadway. It will again be held on the third weekend in September, on
Friday 9/18/09 from 5pm to 8pm, and on Saturday 9/19/09 from 10am to 4pm. The
rate is $400 per booth. All booths will consist of at least two large tables
plus a post and drape backdrop for display. Booth rent is due by July 1, 2009.
Shipping: If you plan to ship items to the Library this year, please let me know and I will supply
the information and contract with the Denver Public Library.
Hotels: We have not blocked hotel rooms this year.
Availability for downtown hotels is good, and there are some real bargains to
be found by using Priceline or other internet services. If anyone needs help
with hotel information or reservations, let me know.
Parking: There is a parking structure just to the south of the
DPL with an entrance on 12th Avenue. There are several bargain lots
(about $ 5 a day) to the south and west of the library.
Loading Dock: If you are bringing your maps in a vehicle and need to
use the loading dock, access is from Broadway, just north of 13th Avenue. Pull down the ramp and ring the bell. The dock area is small and can
be congested, so cars must be removed as soon as they are unloaded. There are
plenty of carts available for use by dealers.
Food: There will be a no host dinner for dealers and
volunteers on Friday, after the close of the fair, at a nearby restaurant. I
will announce the details soon. A sandwich lunch will be provided on Saturday.
Schedule:
Friday, 9/19/08
11am -- Exhibit area open to dealers for booth set up and trade among
dealers.
5:00 pm – Fair open to the public ($5.00 admission).
8:00 pm -- Fair closed.
8:15 pm – No host dinner at a nearby restaurant (to be announced).
Saturday 9/20/08
9:00 am -- Exhibit area open to dealers
10:00 am -- Map Fair open to the public ($5.00 admission).
11:30 am -1:30 pm -- Lunch provided by RMMS probably a sandwich, chips,
fruit, and a drink.
4:00 pm -- Map Fair Closed.
Over 5000 postcards advertising the fair will be mailed in late August.
