Mingzhong Wu was born in Jiangsu, China on June 1968. He obtained the Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering in June 1999 at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Wuhan, China), where he studied the preparation, electromagnetic properties, and microwave absorbing properties of magnetic metal fibers. In July 1999 he joined the Functional Materials Research Laboratory at Tongji University (Shanghai, China) and worked on the microwave characterization of magnetic and dielectric materials. From June 2001 to October 2002 he worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Physics Department of the University of Connecticut (Storrs, Connecticut), where he studied the structure, magnetic properties, and applications of magnetic metal and ferrite nanoparticles.

In November 2002 he joined the Magnetics Group at Colorado State University (Fort Collins, Colorado) as a post-doctoral research associate. His research here is concerned primarily with linear and nonlinear spin waves in magnetic films.

He, his wife and two daughters like Fort Collins very much, which is comfortable, quiet, and very close to the beautiful mountains.
