Alexandre Kindyak's Ph.D. thesis (1988) was titled "Propagation of Ultra Short Electromagnetic Pulses in Condensed Materials in External Magnetic and Electrical Fields". Further activities at the Institute of Solid State and Semiconductor Physics of National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and later at the Minsk Research Institute of Radiomaterials dealt with the theoretical study of linear and nonlinear properties of electromagnetic waves in semi-conducting and magnetic materials.
His studies are supported by the National Science Foundation and by the Royal Society of Great Britain due to a fellowship at Salford University. He collaborates with the Magnetics Group at CSU on a constant basis, his first visit was in the summer of 1999. He considers Ft. Collins to be a quiet town with friendly people. He enjoys the many beautiful places such as mountains, rivers, lakes and reservoirs in this area. He likes to fish and has already been up to some places in his spare time.
