Yuri Fetisov
permanent position is with the Moscow State Institute of Radioengineering, Electronics and Automation (technical university), where he has been working since 1981. At present he is Professor of Physics Department and Director of Research Institute for Informatics.
He obtained his Master and Ph.D. degrees in solid state physics in 1978 and 1981 at the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute, where he investigated spin waves in multilayer ferrite structures. Then he obtained the Doctor of Phys.-Math. Sciences degree in physics of dielectrics and semiconductors in 1993 at the Institute of Radioengineering and Electronics of Russian Academy of Sciences.
His research interests are in the field of linear and nonlinear spin waves in magnetic films and multilayers, interaction of spin waves with optical and acoustical waves, and elaboration of new spin wave devices for microwave signal processing.
Dr. Fetisov first jointed the C. Patton's Magnetic Group at Colorado State University in 1995 as a Visiting Researcher. From that time he maintained fruitful collaboration with Magnetic Group. In 1997, 1999, 2001 and 2002, as a Visiting Professor, he, together with other members of the Group, investigated spin wave envelope solitons in ferrite films, three-wave nonlinear damping of spin waves, different kinds of spin wave delay lines and so on. At the present he is working on microwave bistability in nonlinear ferromagnetic resonance resonators and formation of ultra short microwave pulses due to nonlinear damping of spin waves.
Dr. Fetisov is the author and co-author of more than 60 publications in the archival technical literature and 20 reports on International Conferences. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE since 1996. He has held visiting appointments worldwide: Chiba University (Japan, 1995); Kyoto Institute of Technology (Japan, 1995); Research Institute of Science and Technology (1995, Pohang, Korea); Colorado State University (1997, 1999, 2001, 2002), Oakland University (1999, 2001), Bochum University (1999, Germany, DAAD Program). He has been recipient of research grants and contracts from INTAS, ISTC, NATO, RFFI, Soros Foundation, and Ministry of Education of Russia.
