David
Ménard holds a PhD (August 1999) in Engineering Physics
from the École Polytechnique de Montreal, where he
did theoretical and experimental work on the giant magnetoimpedance
effect in magnetic wires.
He joined Carl Patton's magnetic
group in September 1999 as a NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering
Research Council of Canada) Post-Doctoral Fellow. His work
here consists in the investigation of relaxation mechanisms
in magnetic metals ans ferrites. He have a strong personal
interest for all problems related to metals.
When not in the lab, he plays
with Maïa and Danaë (my two wonderful daughters),
while listening Noémi (my wonderful wife) touching
the strings of her celtic harp. Sometimes for meditation,
when these wonderful people are gone asleep, he is allowed
to play on his renaissance lute
