Brief Bio

·        Undergraduate degree

I read Psychology at the University of Plymouth In Devon, England. My undergraduate dissertation investigated levels of visual code in object recognition with Dr Rob Ellis.

·        Masters Degree

I studied on a Multidisciplinary Masters program in Intelligent Systems which spanned three major disciplines, Psychology, Computing and Electrical Engineering. At the University of Plymouth, pursuing my interests in Computational Vision. Working with Professor Mike Denham, My Thesis investigated computational neuronal models of 40Hz Oscillatory activity as a feature binding mechanism in Biological and Artificial systems.

·        Doctoral work

Working under Professor Mike Denham in the School of Computing at the University of Plymouth (now Director of the Centre for Theoretical and Computational Neuroscience ) I continued my work on modelling cortical binding in the visual system in a Top-Down, Bottom-Up model of Perception.

·        Academic Positions

On finishing my PhD I took a Faculty position in the Department of Psychology at the University of the West of England in Bristol, in Cognitive and Cognitive Neuropsychology

·        In July 2000 I resigned from my position to travel to the USA with my family.

·        Since August 2002 I have been a Visiting Professor at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado, in the Perceptual and Brain Sciences program in the Department of Psychology.
