Research Interests:
My academic interests are in the improvement of agriculture, particularly
regarding the employment of biological agents to control plagues
and other diseases. I am currently focusing on the interaction
of plant roots and microorganisms, with the goal of understanding
the interaction of plants with their environment, especially the
biological role of proteins secreted by the roots such as the
pathogenesis-related (PR) proteins from the exudates of Arabidopsis
thaliana. I am also working on the purification of a ribosome
inactivating protein (RIP) from the model plant Arabidopsis.
