Research Interests:
My academic interests are in the improvement of agriculture, particularly regarding the employment of biological agents to control plagues and other diseases. I am currently focusing on the interaction of plant roots and microorganisms, with the goal of understanding the interaction of plants with their environment, especially the biological role of proteins secreted by the roots such as the pathogenesis-related (PR) proteins from the exudates of Arabidopsis thaliana. I am also working on the purification of a ribosome inactivating protein (RIP) from the model plant Arabidopsis.
