HOMEWORK 1-26-07

return to course webpage
1) Submit a printed copy of the work you did in class on the Res Gestae writing one sentence and then citing the sources that support that sentence in a footnote. The first bibliographical citation should include the website. The standard abbreviation for the inscription does not include the author's name, but is simply, Res Gestae followed by the section number(s).

2) Be prepared to hand in written notes on the texts you are reading for Friday. I think that if you organize your notes topically -- as we did with the Res Gestae -- that we will have a more productive conversation. You do not need to type your notes if you write legibly. You do not need to use footnotes.

Come to class prepared to speak about the texts and Octavian's rise to power.

Note: Please take a quick look at the errors that particularly annoy the professor and avoid making them.
