Themes
Each student will pick a theme from the list below and study that theme
for her or his semester project. Many of these themes existed beyond the
Classical period, so make sure that your work fits within the time limits
above.
Family
Women (beyond family)
Art
Tyranny
Democracy
Slavery
Religion
Forensic Oratory
The majority of the semester project will be individual work. The one
exception to this will be the class presentation, which will be a joint
project.
Theme must be selected by Tuesday, August 29.

Evaluation
The value of each portion of the semester project is as stated above.
Please be aware that if you miss any assignment the points deducted
will be greater than the points indicated above. You must be present
in class on Tuesday, October 28 for peer review. If you miss the in-class
peer review day or if you have an incomplete paper on that day, your
final semester project grade will be deducted 10 pts. The grade for
the class presentation will be based on the overall presentation and
on your peers' evaluation of your contributions to the group work.
