Applying

You can access the application materials two ways:

  1. The online applicaion can be accessed at http://admissions.colostate.edu/.

  2. You can obtain a paper application by contacting Linda Thornton (Linda.Thornton@colostate.edu).

Supporting Documents

Everyone applying to the Colorado State I/O Psychology program must send the following documents:

  1. Two official copies of your academic transcript from every college/university attended. These should be sent in sealed envelopes.

  2. Three reference letters written on professional letterhead in a sealed envelope, with a signature over the sealed flap. There is no standard form that needs to be filled out. The first and last name of the applicant must be included in each letter.

  3. GRE scores must be submitted. We require the Psychology Subject Test GRE for applicants who have not majored in psychology. Please send official ETS scores.

  4. A resume and/or vita including your education background, accomplishments, and work experience.

  5. A personal statement describing how and why you became interested in IO psychology, what your goals are with regard to our graduate program, and why you are interested in a career as an IO psychologist.

  6. A writing sample demonstrating your scientific writing ability such as such as a senior honor's thesis, term paper from a psychology course, laboratory report from an experimental course, or some similar material.
