About
Us
In the early 1990s, when baseball was dropped
from Division I
standings,
it was immediately taken up as a club sport. The
main difference
between
being a club sport and Division I program is the
money.
To compensate,
the team holds fund-raisers, and players have to
pay dues each year.
For
five straight seasons the team has competed at Nationals
traveling to Ogden, Utah; Syracuse, N.Y.; Pueblo and the
past two springs to Bradenton, Fla. This year the baseball
team won Nationals.
The
team is a top five club team and dominates the
Rocky Mountain
Conference. This season a member of our team was
drafted to the
Florida Marlins, a major league team.
Each
season we hold an informational meeting where all interested
students
can find out more about how to join the baseball team.
We hold fall and
spring
tryouts for students who want to join our team. We
are a highly
competitive
team and are always looking for dedicated students
who love the game of
baseball.
The team practices hard every Tuesday - Friday from 3:00
p.m. to 6 p.m. at the baseball field. Our fall season runs
from early September to late October and our spring season
runs from mid-February to early May. For additional questions,
please do not hesitate to use our contact
section. We will answer your questions as quickly as possible.
