Dr. Hillger is a research meteorologist specializing in satellite imagery for NOAA's National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) Office of Research and Applications (ORA). The NOAA/NESDIS/ORA Regional And Mesoscale Meteorology (RAMM) Branch is located at the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA) on the foothills campus of Colorado State University (CSU) in Fort Collins CO.

Hobbies:

Amateur (ham) radio operator, with call sign WDØGCK, and Faculty Advisor for the CSU Amateur Radio Club, WØQEY.

Topical postage stamp collecting (Metric and Related-Standards Philately, Weather Philately, Un-Manned Satellite Philately, amateur radio stamps).
