A. At this time we don't have any requirements for club membership, other than a passion for outdoor adventure. There's no membership fee, no inititation ritual, no nothing really. In the future we intend to introduce an optional membership fee for added benefits (such as access to local discounts & club equipment), but this is still currently in the works. To become an Outdoor Club member, all you have to do is come to our meetings & go on some trips with us! Q. How much does it cost to go on your trips? A. We hear that there are other outdoor clubs and organizations out there that are charging their members a registration fee or something along those lines to go on club trips. To us, this is completely insane. We do not expect impoverished college students (or anyone else) to spend their money on a chance to adventure into the wilderness. All we ask is that you bring a couple bucks to help share the cost of gas & the occasional park permit/parking fee. Q. How do I find out about the AMAZING trips you guys are organizing? A. There are three ways. First, sign up to the club's mailing list. It is here that you will find trip announcements that are open to everyone interested. Second, check the Event Calendar. Most of the trips that are sent to the mailing list are listed on our Calendar, as well as other local events and volunteer opportunities. Finally, come to our weekly meetings. Our members are often spontaneously organizing trips that don't end up on the mailing list, & as such they are only available to members in attendance. You'll just have to come get to know us to join in on the fun! Q. How do I sign up to the mailing list? A. It's really simple, just go here: Subscribe to one of CSU's non-class-related Mailing Lists, select "OUTINGCLUB" from the list, enter in your email address & your name, and hit the 'Submit Query' button. Congratulations, you're in! Q. Where & When are your meetings held? A. We hold a social gathering & trip planning meeting at 8:30pm every Wednesday night at Avogadro's Number, less than a block north of campus on Mason Street. This is an all ages venue, and everyone is welcome, so bring your friends! Please note that occasionally (once a month on average) our meetings are preceded by a guest speaker in the Lory Student Center, and so the usual meeting may not start right at 8:30.
