Tuning Drones

Each file is an MP3 file of a sine wave drone, 2:45 in length, on the equal-tempered pitch (A440) of the name of the file. C4 is the 4th C on a piano keyboard, and equals middle C, and C5 is an octave above middle C.

Select the drone that is the dominant (5th note) of the key you are practicing. As you play, blend as well as you can to the drone. You'll have the easiest time hearing notes that are in the key and more than a step away from the drone.

With these drone pitches as your guide, your ear will become more sensitive to intonation
