Guidelines for Presenters

Oral Presentations

Presentations will be limited to 15 minutes. We recommend a presentation length of 12-13 minutes, allowing 2-3 minutes for questions. The preferred format is Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 or 2010.

The oral sessions will be held on Wednesday between 8:00-11:45am and 1:15-2:30pm. A moderator will be on hand to introduce each speaker and keep each session on schedule. Please meet with the moderator in your assigned room 10-15 minutes before the start of your session.

Presenters may submit a copy of their PowerPoint presentation to ecosym@colostate.edu. However, you should bring a copy of the final version of your PowerPoint presentation to the symposium to load onto our computers; the copy can be burned on a CD or saved on a USB flash drive. PowerPoint presentations shoud be uploaded at least 30 minutes prior to the start of your session on Wednesday at the registration desk.

 

Poster Presentations

Posters are limited to a board 4 feet high by 6 feet wide. We recommend a poster size of about 3 feet high by 4 feet wide. Click here for a helpful tutorial on creating posters.

The poster session will be held on Wednesday from 2:30-4:00pm. During the poster session, presenters are expected to stand with their poster to address questions from viewers and judges. However, posters should be on display throughout the day.

Presenters will set up their own posters in the North Ballroom at the Lory Student Center. Posters may be set up on Wednesday from 7:15 am to 2 pm. The posters must be taken down by 7:00pm on Wednesday.
