What is FRSES?
FRSES is a student-run symposium that provides an opportunity for Front Range students doing research in ecology to showcase their work and network in a friendly and supportive peer environment. Highlights of the event include a keynote address by an engaging invited speaker, a full day of poster and oral presentation sessions, an awards banquet to recognize exceptional student work, and a social gathering to celebrate the success of our participating students. The 16th annual FRSES will also feature an exciting panel discussion addressing the interface between science and policy.
Why should I participate in FRSES?
Submitting an abstract to FRSES and presenting your research in either a poster or oral presentation are great ways to practice communicating science. This is a skill that students seldom get to work on so FRSES provides a valuable opportunity. Research can be presented in all stages of it's development from proposed research to completed research. The feedback gained from the faculty judges is intended to help to improve your project's research design or you communication skills.
