Operation Goodwood, 1944

Introduction

A map of the area. The map is roughly 10km by 10km.

The scenario we'll be playing is "Operation Goodwood", a large-scale breakout attempt on 7/18/44 by the British in the area of Caen in Normandy. In reality the British didn't break out, though they made some gains. I won't force the British or German players to make exactly the same moves (mistakes?) that were made historically, but they will be faced with some of the same operational and tactical challenges.
