Major General William Dorsey Pender

Died: July 18, 1863
Attended West Point, class on 1854, finished 19 of 46.
Service record:
- Frontier duty before the war. Resigned March 1861.
- Initial commissioned Captain of C.S.A. Artillery.
- Elected Colonel of the 3rd North Carolina.
- Transfered to 6th North Carolina on 15 August 1861.
- Lead the 6th NC on the Peninsula.
- Promoted to Brigadier General on 3 June 1862.
- Fought under A. P. Hill during the Seven Days Battles
- Fought under Stonewall Jackson at
- Second Bull Run
- Antietam
- Fredericksburg
- Chancellorsville (wounded 3 times, but did not leave the field)
- Promoted to Major General 27 May 1863 (age 29).
- Commanded a division at Gettysburg where he was wounded severly.
