The American
Chemical Society The ACS
is a self-governed individual membership organization
that consists of 161,000 members60% from industry,
at all degree levels. This provides ample opportunity for
peer interaction, regardless of your professional or
scientific interests. There are 34 ACS divisions,
representing a wide range of disciplines for chemists,
chemical engineers and technicians.

The American
Vacuum Society The American Vacuum Society
is a nonprofit organization which promotes communication,
dissemination of knowledge, recommended practices,
research, and education in the use of vacuum and other
controlled environments to develop new materials, process
technology, devices, and related understanding of
material properties for the betterment of humanity.

ACS Womens Chemist
Committee The
Women Chemists Committee serves the membership of the
American Chemical Society. Our mission is to be leaders
in attracting, developing and promoting women in the
chemical sciences. There are three goals designed to
fulfill the mission statement:
I. To attract women
to a profession in the chemical sciences.
II. To provide leadership for career development
opportunities for women chemists.
III. To promote and recognize the professional
accomplishments of women chemists.

CIC-WISE Fifteen CIC campuses and
three national associations have undertaken a
comprehensive set of collaborative activities designed to
achieve gender equity at each step along the science,
engineering, and mathematics (SEM) pipeline. The CIC WISE
Initiative, which is co-sponsored by the National Science
Foundation and the CIC campuses, targets upper-division
undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty women in
SEM fields.

Women in Science AWIS is dedicated to
achieving equity and full participation for women in
science, mathematics, engineering and technology.

ACS WiC at
Michigan State University ACS Women in Chemistry was
founded in the fall of 1997 to give support to women in
science and to address their needs and concerns.
The group is supported by the Michigan State University
Local Section of the ACS. The mission is to provide
a venue for women chemists to meet and interact and to
facilitate both their professional and personal
growth.
