CSU - WiC
Colorado State University -
Women in Chemistry was founded in the fall of 1998 to give
support to women in science and to address their needs and
concerns. The group is supported by the local ACS chapter
as well as through individual contributions. The mission is
to provide a venue for women chemists to meet and interact and to
facilitate both their professional and personal growth.
Throughout the year, we host brown bag lunches, workshops, and
sponsor women seminar speakers in our department. We hold
charity drives to benefit the less fortunate of the Fort Collins
area. We also schedule social activities so that the younger
chemists can interact with and be mentored by the older graduate
students and professionals of our group. We believe that
these programs have been and will continue to be very successful
and have provided a supportive environment for the women in our
group.
