Other Information about the New POD Mailing List 

Our  mailing list has been moved from Valdosta State University to the Listserv server at the University of Notre Dame as a result of an offer by the Kaneb Center for Teaching and Learning to host the list on an ongoing basis. Notre Dame’s Listserv software provides many of the features that have been requested on the list in the recent past.

Listserv is a powerful mailing list agent that automates message sending and delivery for those who are subscribed to the list. Users who are subscribed to the list may post messages, review the list of subscribers, enable digest delivery of messages, and browse or search archived messages using a web interface. 

There are some differences between the Listproc software that maintaind the former POD mailing list at Valdosta State University and the Listserv software that will maintain the new list. The most obvious is easier access to list archives and a web interface that allows subscribers to change their subscription options. Long-time subscribers to the POD electronic list will find that other features are generally the same.
