What We're About

The Logging Team participates in traditional logging sports such as:

Pole Climbing, Crosscut Sawing, Axe Throwing, Chopping, Chainsaw events, and some water sports including Birling, Boom Run, and Limber Pole.

If you are interested in possibly joining, or just want to check us out, feel free. No experience is necessary and all equipment is provided - just contact one of the officers or show up at the scheduled time, and we will show you how it's done.

CSU Rocks AWFC Conclave '05!

Eight of our members attended our annual conclave in Washington state. This was the first time at competition for many members, but every one did great. Here's how we did.

Out of 153 total competitors,

Our Men Placed:
Pete Whiting - 6th Ax Throw
Scott Plested - 4th Kaber Toss
Dane Sheely - 4th Place Power Saw
Brian Gley - 2nd place Ax Throw

Our Women Placed:
Tiffany Searcy - 1st place choker
        - 1st place ax throw
             - 3rd place limber pole
           - 3rd place caber toss
    - 5th place birling
Alicia Pfile - 6th Place in Ax Throw

If you're on the team - please show up to as many practices as possible, though only one a week is required. It is especially important to show up to the first practices so that you can learn the basics

We are a member of the AWFC (Association of Western Forestry Clubs).

There is a $50 fee per semester if you decide to join. Feel free to come out and see if it is right for you before deciding
