Planting Plan

The purpose of the planting plan is to describe and locate the planting involved with the design, both the proposed and any existing plants that may remain.

prepared on a base sheet including a north arrow and a scale
include all (exact location) existing site features that remain in the proposed design
include all (exact location) proposed structural features (pavement, walls. curbs, permanent objects, etc.)
large trees and shrubs should be shown with a symbol clearly indicating the center of the plant, and the foliage lines shown lightly
smaller plants and ground covers are shown by type and size and may be designated with a texture
all plants should be called out directly or by the use of logical symbols

Planting Notes

Final location and staking of all plant materials shall be subject to the approval of the Landscape Architect.

All shrub beds are to be mulched with a 3" deep layer of gravel mulch unless otherwise noted on the plan.

Plant quantities in the Plant List are for reference only. Contractor is responsible to complete their own quantity take offs for all plants and sizes shown on the plan.

Plant List

The plant list may be in a chart format and should include: botanical name, common name, size/delivery (B&B, 5 gal. containers, flats, seeded, etc.), quantity, and remarks (special conditions)
