WEEKLY MESSAGE

December 4, 2008

"I will instruct you and teach you in the way that you should go; I will guide you with My eye" ~ Psalm 32:8. NKJV.

This Week's Events and Activities:

- Friday Night Fellowship continues this Friday, December 5, 2008 at 6:30 PM at Eickmann's home in Campion. Our hosts will provide a delicious home-cooked meal, and then we will have fellowship, singing, prayer, and will continue with our Bible study on the book of Job. Jonathan Vigh will lead this week's discussion on Job 40, 42. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come. Feel free to bring a friend! Friday Night Fellowship is not an official ACF event.

- ACF invites you to our General Business Meeting, this Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 8:00 PM in Newsom Hall on the CSU Campus. Agenda topics include planning outreach and social activities, as well as planning for Winterfest. This is an official ACF business meeting - all active ACF members are requested to attend.

- And here's a note from our President on an upcoming outreach activity in case any of you would like to be involved:

A group of us are throwing a winter ball for children at Respite Care. This organization is a place for children with developmental disabilities to stay for the day or even up to two weeks. The age group at the ball is 15- 21, and each person attending needs a "date" or volunteer. Our group for this class has 5 people (including myself), but we will need at least 5 more people to volunteer. It is on December 13 (Saturday) from 6-8. Also if you would want to come earlier just to help set up that would be great too.
Please let me know if you would like to help!
Jaimie ~ 760-832-3519. This is not an official ACF event.

November 15, 2008

"See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God." ~ Ephesians 5:15-21. NKJV.

This Week's Events and Activities:

- ACF has started a couple new programs called "Guys Night Out" and "Girls Night Out". The idea is to have a time when the collegiates and young adults can go out on the town for good clean fun in same-gender groups. The activities could range from laser tag and minigolf, a moonlight hike, going out to eat, going for a movie, etc. Well, I suppose the sky is the limit, so maybe sky diving too. Every will pay their own costs for the activities. We'd like to do this maybe every 4-6 weeks or so.

- ACF's first "Girls Night Out" will be this Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 12:30 PM. The girls will be going meeting at Three Margaritas at 12:30 PM for lunch, then heading over to Creative Nails & Spa at 2:00 PM to get their nails done. The address for Three Margaritas is 3400 South College Avenue, and the address for Creative Nails & Spa is 2407 South College (in the King Soopers and Whole Foods Plaza). Bring our student I.D.'s so you can get a discount. For more information, contact Jaimie Gursky at (760)832-3519. Girls Night Out is an official ACF program.

- ACF's "Guys Night Out" will be this Monday, November 17, 2008 at 5:30 PM. The guys will meet at Big City Burrito for supper at 5:30 PM, then either go for minigolf or laser tag, or perhaps ice cream (to be decided by who shows up). For more information, contact Jonathan Vigh at (585)808-8972. Guys Night Out is an official ACF program.

- Friday Night Fellowship continues this Friday, November 21, 2008 at 6:30 PM at Harold and Wanda Dupper's home in Fort Collins. Our hosts will provide a delicious home-cooked meal, and then we will have fellowship, singing, prayer, and will continue with our Bible study on the book of Job. Ryan Trott will lead this week's discussion. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come. Feel free to bring a friend! Friday Night Fellowship is not an official ACF event.

November 12, 2008

"Therefore humble yourselves under the might hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care on Him, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen and settle you. To Him be the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen." ~ 1 Peter 5:6-11. NKJV. [bold added]

"Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?. . . For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." ~ Matthew 5:25-26, 31-33, NKJV.

This Week's Events and Activities:

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith." ~ Romans 1:16-17, NKJV.

This Week's Events and Activities:

~ On All Hallows Eve (the day we call Halloween), October 31, 1517, Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the church door at Wittenburg, sparking the Protestant Reformation. People of all faith traditions are welcome to attend. Please invite your friends to this unique candlelight service. Bring a candle if you like. Light refreshments will be served starting at 8:00 PM. Reformation Day Prayer Service is an official ACF event.

~ Because of the Reformation Day Service, there will be no study at this week's Friday Night Fellowship, but there will still be a meal. A delicious home-cooked meal will be served before the service Friday, October 31, 2008 from 6:30 PM - 7:45 PM at Harold and Wanda Dupper's home in Fort Collins. Please come promptly at 6:30 PM so you can have time to enjoy food and fellowship before going to the service. .  Friday Night Fellowship is not an official ACF event.
