The Hispanic Cine-Lit Project

Description

The Hispanic Cine-Lit Project is a Web Site that was conceived by Jaume Martí-Olivella in the context of the Round Table Discussion on Hispanic Cinema in the Classroom that took place during CINE-LIT III, the third International Conference on Hispanic Literatures and Cinematographies, held at Portland State University, Portland, Oregon, on February 19-22, 1997.  The round table was moderated by Kathleen McNerney and the participants were Marsha Kinder, Susan Martín-Márquez, Jaume Martí-Olivella, Dennis West and Kathleen Vernon.

The Hispanic Cine-Lit Project is a database that links the pages of professionals in the field while providing an extensive bank of critical resources for students to access on any related materials. An additional aim is to provide an ongoing agenda of several events (film festivals, conferences, etc) that extends the network and facilitates opportunities to coordinate efforts and share expenses in bringing films and directors
to our institutions.

The Hispanic Cine-Lit Project is a work in progress.  What we present here is its initial protoype.  We hope that with everybody's contribution the site will become a true virtual meeting point for both students and scholars in the ever growing community of people interested in Hispanic cinema and literature.
