Guidelines for Presenters

Oral Presentations

Oral presentations are limited to 15 minutes. We recommend a presentation length of 12-13 minutes, allowing 2-3 minutes for questions. The preferred format is MS PowerPoint, however overhead or slide projectors are available upon request (please contact us at least a week prior to the symposium at ecosym@lamar.colostate.edu). A moderator will introduce each speaker and keep each one-hour session on schedule. Please meet with your session moderator 10-15 minutes before the start of your session.

Submit an electronic copy of your PowerPoint presentation no later than February 20th, 2008 to: ecosym@lamar.colostate.edu. You may also send a CD copy by mail to: FRSES co/GDPE, 1401 Campus Delivery, Colorado State University, Fort Collins CO, 80523.

Also bring an extra copy of your presentation with you to the symposium as a back-up, preferably burned on a CD to avoid problems with incompatible flash drives.

Poster Presentations

Posters are limited to a space four feet (4') high and eight feet (8') wide. Most posters are typically around 3' x 4' in dimension. Click here for a helpful tutorial on creating poster presentations.

The poster session will be held on Wednesday, February 27th from 2:30-4:00pm. During the poster session, presenters are expected to be present to host their poster and receive questions from viewers and judges. Posters should be on display throughout the day.

Presenters will set up their own posters in the North Ballroom at the Lory Student Center. Local participants are encouraged to set up on Tuesday evening, between 5:45-6:15pm. Posters may also be set up on Wednesday morning between 7:15-8:15am. All posters should be removed by 7:00pm on Wednesday.
