Left: Firefighters battle the Walker Ranch Fire in the summer of 2000 near Flagstaff Road. Flames towered to 200 feet in height as local crews fought to keep the fire from spreading to the north of the road. They were able to make a stand in a treated area, and no homes were lost in this blaze.
