The hotel's advice: On the international mailing label, be very clear, complete, and concise as to the contents of the package. Perhaps put that it is conference material and then specifically what it is. Put a contact number for the *sender* (not the hotel) in case there's a question from customs. Often, the hotel gets called about a package and they can't respond because they don't know the nature of the package. Hopefully, your content description will be clear enough to avoid questions. This whole customs thing is pretty variable (as it is for checking people through) and sometimes packages fly right through and sometimes they are held for questioning (so to speak).

Virleen's sources say to mark the package very clearly "not for resale." Supposedly, it can get hung up if you're going to make money. Ideally, the hotel doesn't like packages to arrive more than a few days in advance because of storage limitations. However, we can't predict how long the materials will take in transit or at customs.
