Colorado PEAKS Alliance for Graduate
Education and the Professoriate Program
Colorado State University

The Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate Program is designed to recruit and retain under-represented graduate students as future faculty members in higher education institutions in science, engineering, and mathematics. This program offers funding for fellowships leading to the doctoral degree, with training for preparation to enter the professoriate.

This program will allow for the recruitment, retention and graduation up to 50 doctoral students over the next five to ten years. A fellowship recipient will receive $6,000 total. (This award is for the first year only; the departments guarantee long-term support for students making good progress toward the Ph.D. degree.) These fellowships will consist of a $2,500 diversity fellowship during the academic year and a $3,500 research award to support summer research. Also, two PEAKS fellowships at $15,000 each plus tuition will be awarded. In addition, fellowship recipients will, have a quarter-time graduate assistantship from their home department (about $4,500 each).

Candidates must be enrolled in doctoral programs or M.S./Ph.D. programs at CSU in order to be eligible for these fellowships in one of the following CSU disciplines (in alphabetical order). Click on discipline to visit its respective program website.

Other opportunities: the AGEP Colorado PEAKS program provides travel support for PEAKS doctoral students to attend professional meetings and conferences. Diversity faculty development activities designed to enhance relationships with faculty will be conducted. Visiting underrepresented scholars and scientists will be invited to the CSU site to interact with the Colorado PEAKS students and to serve as role models.
