Welcome to the Colorado PEAKS Alliance for
Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP)
at Colorado State University. The AGEP program is
designed to increase the number of underrepresented
students receiving the doctoral degree at the PEAKS
institutions in the Sciences, Technology, Engineering,
and Mathematics (STEM) fields. We need role models
and mentors in the professoriate to be able to recruit
more underrepresented (STEM) students.
The
primary goal of the Colorado PEAKS Alliance is
to establish sustainable campus programs that
facilitate the development of Ph.D. scholars and
academic leaders in STEM disciplines. The PEAKS
Alliance will capitalize on the Colorado State
University led Louis Stokes Colorado Alliance
for Minority Participation (CO-AMP) infrastructure
to reach outstanding underrepresented undergraduate
students in Colorado and the four corners region
who might pursue graduate degrees at PEAKS institutions
(CU-Boulder, the principal institution and CSU).
CO-AMP has been successful with the development
of undergraduate retention and the recruitment
programs within the fourteen Colorado institutions
of higher education. CO-AMP will be expanded to
include graduate student recruitment.
